INTEGRAL Galactic Bulge Monitoring: Crab Calibration Data

ISGRI

ISGRI count rates for the Crab have been read from the isgri_sky_res.fits files produced by OSA7 with the same settings as for the Galactic Bulge Observations light curves. The average count-rates are as follows: Band A (18-40 keV), 1 Crab = 206cps; Band B (40-100 keV), 1 Crab = 103 cps (averaged over all epochs and off-axis angles). There are variations in the ISGRI count rates with off-axis angles of ~ few % up to ~10 degrees from the pointing direction; ISGRI has shown a small systematic decline in count rate from the Crab of ~ 5% in the last 2 years.

JEM-X 1
JEM-X 1 count rates for the Crab have been read from the jmx1_sky_ima.fits files produced by OSA7 with the same settings as for the Galactic Bulge Observations light curves. Fluxes are read from teh images using mosaic_spec. The average count-rates, at less than 4 degrees off-axis are as follows: Band A (3-10 keV), 1 Crab = 88 cps; Band B (10-25 keV), 1 Crab = 32 cps. Outside of 4 degrees off-axis the response falls off sharply and uncertainty on the flux increases.
